We never expected such a great variety of landscapes, spots and possibilities to do fun sports. But hell yeah Morocco is definitely the place to be for a short trip from Europe to do all kinds of extreme sports. Not more than two hours lasted our plane from Barcelona to Marrakesh. After getting to know the old capital of Morocco we started our road trip through the “High Atlas Mountains”. We crossed the “Oasis of Souk” and stayed overnight close to the “Valley of Dades”. Terrific landscapes! Really worth visiting it! Afterwards we headed towards the “Valley of Todra” to hit some climbing rocks. After three days of climbing we felt like to see the ocean again and started the car towards Essaouira to go kiting again.
Essaouira, the city of 1000 blue doors! We just arrived and were another time surprised by the super chilled and friendly atmosphere. Essaouira welcomes us with perfect condicions for 11 m kites. Yummy yummy! Heaps of travel guides describe Essaouria as a flatwater spot, but Essaouria definitely offers more than that! It is a bay but still the waves enter clean and sorted. At the south end of the bay flows a river into the Atlantic and produces a really nice lagoon. We were lucky to witness one of the random fullmoon nights with wind. Moon shine transformed the beach into a sea of lights. I already can’t wait to come back.
